ZHAGA-D4i: Our LED Fixtures Are Certified

10 Jul. 2023 | products

GMR ENLIGHTS, as a manufacturer within the Zhaga industrial consortium, offers Zhaga-D4i certified LED fixtures to designers, customers, and public administrations. These fixtures are in line with the needs of a smart city, suitable for all public lighting procurement tenders, and ready for the modernisation of infrastructure.

All the key products in our street and urban lighting collections have obtained the Zhaga-D4i certification for LED luminaires, ensuring plug and play interoperability with communication nodes.

What is Zhaga-D4i certification?

Zhaga-D4i certification ensures the compatibility of an LED luminaire for street and urban lighting with a communication node compliant with the Zhaga-D4i protocol.

The certification is jointly issued by the Zhaga consortium and the DALI Alliance organisation. The Zhaga industrial consortium sets the interface specifications between luminaires and communication nodes or modules.
The DALI Alliance (DiiA) is the global organisation for DALI, ensuring D4i compliance.

Zhaga Book 18: What does it mean?

Zhaga Book 18 is a standard issued by the Zhaga Consortium, which defines all mechanical, electrical, and functional specifications for Zhaga system compatibility.

In particular, the system requires certified Zhaga sockets and control devices. A luminaire equipped with certified Zhaga components can be Zhaga certified if the component installation follows the guidelines specified in Zhaga Book 18.

Zhaga-D4i Certification: How does it work?

The Zhaga-D4i certification for a lighting fixture entails the luminaire being equipped with certified Zhaga components, installed according to the guidelines of Book 18, and having a certified D4i driver.

Zhaga-D4i certification for a lighting fixture is obtained through two stages:

  • Verification and accreditation phase:
    a certified third-party verifies that the LED fixture meets all the specifications of Zhaga Book 18;
  • Certification issuance phase:
    the Zhaga consortium verifies the accreditation, issues the certification, and updates the database of certified products.

Advantages of Zhaga-D4i certified LED fixtures

An LED luminaire with Zhaga-D4i certification:

  • Enables remote control and monitoring: A Zhaga-D4i luminaire with control capabilities can be dimmed remotely and provide precise data on power consumption and any functional anomalies;
  • Ensures interchangeability of communication nodes without manufacturer or brand constraints;
  • Can be installed with or without the communication module. The sensor for Smart City applications can be easily integrated, even after installation, without the need to open the luminaire;
  • Complies with all public lighting procurement tenders.

Which of our LED fixtures are Zhaga-D4i certified?

Our luminaires that have obtained Zhaga-D4i certification are the Orn and laFoglia street lighting luminaires, as well as the Virgo urban lighting fixture.
Vesta, Taurus and Izar are undergoing accreditation and will soon obtain certification.
